Montreal Canadiens superstar and winger Cole Caufield changes his jersey number to 13 this season to honour Johnny Gaudreau, after his tragic passing this offseason.

As the Montreal Canadiens face off against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Cole Caufield managed to get the first goal for his team's of the season.
Cole Caufield used to wear number 13 earlier in his hockey career because of Johnny Hockey' and then last month Caufield announced he would wear number 13 again after Johnny and his brother Matthew Gaudreau passed away on August, 29th due to a drunk drive.
However, on Wednesday night at the Bell Centre, Caufield scored the first goal of the Montreal Canadiens opening night against the Toronto Maple Leafs while sporting number 13 on his back.
In his first game wearing No. 13 to honor Johnny Gaudreau, Cole Caufield opens the scoring for Montreal. ❤️
After Caufield scored he started to skate towards his bench to give his teammates a high-five but while doing so he took a moment and pointed to the sky for Johnny:
For Johnny. ❤️
The goal itself was a beautiful one-timer in the first period that had Anthony Stolarz moving from left to right, and ultimately beat him blocker side and the Bell Centre was truly ecstatic about the goal.
Truly a heartfelt tribute and moment from the 23-year old forward.
