Finland hockey player, Juuso Vainio had to wait roughly 30 minutes for an ambulance after taking a brutal hit.

Thankfully Vainio didn't suffer any serious injuries from this hit, but he was required to stay the night in the hospital for observation. After the incident happened Vainio's team has refused to explain why there wasn't an ambulance on scene from the beginning of the game.

Usually in professional hockey, players will receive immediate medical attention when they get hurt, but regardless of a doctor staying by Vainio the entire time, he stayed laid out on the until the ambulance arrived.

JYP released a statement stating Vainio was conscious and able to move while waiting for help:

"The player was conscious the entire time and all of the player's limbs were moving. Vainio was taken by ambulance to Central Finland Hospital for further examinations.

After the situation, the ice was repaired with an ice machine and the game continued as normal.

JYP will inform more about the situation when additional information about further investigations is received."

After the incident occurred, he was taken to the hospital where he stayed the night for observation and the ice was then cleaned up, allowing the game to continue.

Vainio, a 30-year-old defenseman, has played professionally since 2012, mostly in Finland, with two seasons in Sweden where he went on to win a championship.
