Libor Hajek was a 2nd round draft pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2016 but would have trouble finding a home in the NHL after five seasons with the New York Rangers.

He would leave the NHL for the Czech Republic League, in 2023-2024.

But at 26 he feels he still has a chance in the NHL, and according to NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman.

"I have heard that he is looking to come back to the NHL."

He suffered a separated shoulder during the 1st season in the league, shortly after scoring his first goal. Hajek suffered bad luck, as his season would be uneventful and the team wouldn't play him because he was waiver eligible at the time, hurt his development in the NHL.

He would only play 110 games with the New York Rangers.

"It was one of those things that just went sideways on him, and it didn't work out. Now, at 26, he wants to have another chance," added Friedman.

The left-handed defenseman would spend most of his time in North America in the AHL, but couldn't develop properly.

In the Czech Republic League, he would score 9 points in 20 games with a plus/minus of +15.
