Early on Monday morning, NHL insider Frank Seravalli faced a ton of backlash from fans after he released prediction that disrespect Johnny Gaudreau's tragic death.

The passing of Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew Gaudreau has taken a toll on the entire hockey community, especially for the guys in the National Hockey League and of course his close family and friends.

However, in Seravalli's latest for the Daily Faceoff he made predictions for all the 32 teams in the National Hockey League, but following his prediction for the Columbus Blue Jackets he believes they would win the NHL Draft Lottery.

Which is fine until he used a very poor choice of words for the situation as he «Thanked» Johnny Gaudreau's death for this «advantage».

Since then Frank Seravalli has been brutally called out for this, and now the NHL insider has decided to address the situation, as he offers an apology for his poor choice of words:

Earlier today, in an annual season predictions column, I picked the Columbus Blue Jackets to win the Draft Lottery and included commentary about Johnny Gaudreau looking down on them from heaven for good luck.

What I wrote and how my poor choice of words was received was not intended to create any hurt or anger. Especially as a member of the Philly hockey community, I've been absolutely gutted by John and Matty's passing - like so many around the hockey world. This tragedy is a difficult topic we're all grappling with and what I wrote was never intended to add to that. Simply put, I should not have tied the two together. I am sorry and I promise to be better.

Definitely nice to see him acknowledge his mistake and give an apology. However Seravalli had edited and fixed the article three times to try and make it sound better, which clearly made it worse as he decided to just publish the article anyways instead of removing it.
