New York Rangers have delivered more unfortunate news as they have placed defenseman on Injured reserve.

Defenseman Ryan Lindgren has officially been placed on Injured reserve by the New York Rangers.
After fighting Scott Mayfield during the Rangers second preseason game, Lindgren suffered an unfortunate upper-body injury, which has sidelined for the remainder of training camp.
Following the situation, head coach Peter Laviolette was asked about Lindgren's status and he essentially confirmed that Lindgren would not be available for the season opener against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
«Right now it's still the same timeline.» Laviolette said. «He hasn't been out with us, so it's still the same timeline. Nothing has really changed.»

Lindgren did skate on his own, which is a positive sign. This most likely means that he will miss the first few games, but his timetable to return is still unknown.
However Lindgren did manage to skate on his own, which is clearly a positive sign but he still hasn't practiced with the team. This likely means that he miss a few games of the regular season, but when he will return still remains unknown.
Last note: Ryan Lindgren still isn't practicing with the team, but he skated on his own this morning. #NYR
This past season the 26-year old defeseman managed to record 3 goals, 14 assists and 17 points in 76 games while averaging 19:21 minutes.
