Jim Montgomery drops bombshell statement about the Bruins
This has been a far tougher season for head coach Jim Montgomery as his team had went through a major change with the loss of several players including future hall of famer Patrice Bergeron.
After the loss to the Rangers and a poor practice, Montgomery made a bombshell statement says his team is not ready for the playoffs.
After it was made. The NHL network panel weighed and gave their take on this huge statement.
It's quite true that the team looks quite different compared to teams past, even though their record says otherwise.
Though 73 games, the Bruins hold a record of 42-16-15 for 99 points.
That alone should not be a cause for concern, but those 15 losses in OT certainly show they are having a tougher time closing games and losing in OT.
There have been many instances of weak play and poor starts by the Bruins.
The team and GM Don Sweeney made some modest changes at the trade deadline and over their last 10 games have shown a record of 6-3-1.
The Bruins are not who they were and it seems they can be beaten this season.
It remains to be seen on whether this is all smoke and mirrors with the real Bruins ready to play in the playoffs or they are weaker than before.
