The hockey community mourns the passing of former 24-year old QMJHL goaltender

Tragic news strikes once again as former QMJHL and U-Sports goaltender has passed away at the young age of 24.

In a recent social media post, the Rimouski Oceanic announced the passing of their former goaltender, Creed Jones, who passed at 24 following a motorcycle accident.

The following statement was translated from French.

"1/2 The Rimouski Océanic wishes to add its voice to that of the Olympics, the Sea Dogs and the QMJHL as our former color wearer, Creed Jones, lost his life today.

We have only fond memories of this wonderful person and wish our most sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.

Rest in peace and watch over yours, Creed 🕊️ ."

Jones played four season in the QMJHL with the Gatineau Olympiques, Rimouski Oceanic and Saint John Sea Dogs, between 2017-18 and 2020-21 where he appeared in 93 game, with a decent record of 27-47-8, GAA of 3.27 and save percentage of .894.

Jones finally retired from professional hockey after playing just four games with the University of Ottawa in USports in 2021-22.
