On Thursday, the hockey community mourned the passing of former Ottawa Senators Defenseman Dmitri Filimonov, who passed away at 52-years old.
There has been a recent Google search that has been surfacing that doesn't provide any information regarding Filimonov's death, such as the time of death.
The announcement was officially made on August 1st. However, the real time still remains a mystery as Wikipedia states his he has passed in July/August of 2024.
It's still unknown if any more information will be revealed about the situation.
Dmitri Filimonov was originally drafted in the 3rd round (49th Overall) by the Winnipeg Jets in 1991, but was later traded to the Ottawa Senators in 1993, and made 30 appearances with the team, tallying a total of five points (1 goal, 4 assists) during the 1993-94 season.
Filimonov's time in the NHL was short, as he later returned to the KHL to play for the Perm Molot in his hometown of Russia.
