With the NHL off season in full swing, trade proposals are surfacing everywhere, and one has Rangers forward Kappo Kaako being traded to the Calgary Flames.

The trade proposal was mentioned from Puckpedia a site that has gained notoriety and popularity since cap friendly has been purchased by the Washington Capitals. The deal would see Andrei Kuzmenko heading to the Rangers in exchange for Kakko, Bryce McConnell Barker and a 2025 fifth round pick from Minnesota.
Both sides of this trade proposal would see benefits as the Rangers would gain a forward who is known for scoring goals and producing points which is one of the main issues the Rangers are tried to address. The Flames on the other hand would get younger players as they continue their retool and rebuild phase Who would give Kakko a change of scenery and plenty of ice time as he would become one of the top six forwards for the Flames.
He played 61 games last year for the Rangers, scoring 13 goals with six assists for 19 points and only contributed 2 points through 15 games in the playoffs. Having signed a one-year extension worth $2.4 million, these kinds of numbers are certainly underwhelming in need to improve.
General manager Chris Drury has mentioned over the course of this summer that the trade proposals he has received from other general managers have been less than overwhelming.
Needs to be seen on whether Kakko will remain with the Rangers this year or maybe moved at the trade deadline. But with cost certainty and a desire to improve his play and a change of scenery it's likely a team would be willing to take him on in the short term.
