Those forwards have to be skillful enough to put the puck on net or be a playmaker for the Rangers.
Since GM Chris Drury didn't make a huge splash during the offseason they will have to dig deep into their bag of tricks and find their depth goal scorer.
This could be left-wing Brennan Othmann's time to grab the brass ring and prove he's ready to make the team out of camp.
Along with Othmann, the Rangers will have a competitor vying for another spot in the lineup in Brett Berard.
Berard is 22, lit up the AHL in 2023-2024, and is at a point in his career, where a GM needs to see his skills in full effect.
It could be his last shot with the Rangers.
Also in competition for these spots will be Matt Rempe, Filip Chytil, and son of former NHLer Yanic Perrault in Gabe Perrault, a US NTDP product.
The Rangers have a wealth of prospects and a depth of talent to utilize and tap into should worse come to worse.
They only need a chance to show what they have on the ice, and my bet is one of Berard, Perrault or Othmann will show us what they're made of.
