Trotz disgusted by deadline prices
Many NHL pundits and fans were curious to see how Stanley Cup winning head coach Barry Trotz would transition from the bench to the press box as general manager of the Nashville Predators.
Many felt this was a great fit for the team as he was the bench boss for so long.
In his first year on the job, he is now facing his first NHL trade deadline.
And as expected, Barry Trotz laid it all out in what he thinks about the prices that other general managers are asking for their rentals.
With his statement, it seems unlikely that the predators will be active in the deadline and will hang on to much of their talent as they continue to assess and see what the team will need in the future.
Some general managers like to do their business in the summer as they have more options to make trades since the salary cap does not apply.
Others like to build their teams at the deadline in hopes that making a deal would save their season and give them hope to win the Stanley Cup.
It remains to be seen on what Barry Trotz will do during the deadline if any however I expect him to be busy this summer as numerous players are coming up for discussion.
