Luke Gazdic calls out star players for embellishment during game six
The National Hockey League seems to be faced with a serious problem that's was pointed out former player, the problem being the amount of embellishment this year.
During the second intermission of the Canucks Vs. Oilers game six, former NHLer Luke Gazdic had enough and called out the players of the National Hockey League on this embarrassing behaviour.
"I think we officially have an embellishment epidemic on our hands in the National Hockey League," said a disappointed looking Gazdic. "It's not just this series it's all across the National Hockey League."
Gazdiz does believe this a to be an issue across the entire league. However, he did pin point specific plays during the Canucks and Oilers as examples of the embarrassing behaviour he wants removed from the game. Star players including Brock Boeser, Nikita Zadorov, Connor McDavid, Zach Hyman all got called out by Gazdic.
"It's every single player honestly on both teams," said Gazdic. "As soon as anyone is getting touched here it's straight down to the ice."
Gazdic didn't shy away from how terrible he thinks this is for the sport of hockey.
"There's just flopping all over the ice," said Gazdic shaking his head. "It's honestly tough to watch at this point."
Kevin Bieksa even chimed in on Gazdic's rant and pointed out something quite interesting, that many probably didn't think of. But will probably keep an eye on it now.
"You notice the guys that are doing the embellishment are all power play players?" asked Bieksa.
