The Florida Panthers officially named the 2023-24 Stanley Cup Champions

The Florida Panthers are officially the 2024 Stanley Cup Champions after defeating the Edmonton Oilers in game seven.

The Florida Panthers, who put up a fight all season long managing to led the Atlantic Division with 110 regular season points, then taking an early 3-0 series lead against the Oilers, before an unbelievable comeback that sparked a must-win in game 7.

Carter Verhaeghe started the night off by scoring the first goal for the Panthers early in the first period with a tap-in from Evan Rodrigues.

Of course the Edmonton Oilers didn't take long to respond after just over two minutes later, Mattias Janmark tied it up after a breakaway goal making it 1-1.

And the final goal that sealed the deal for the Panthers, Sam Reinhart put the back on top with netting a goal with 4:49 left in the second period. Ultimately leaving the Panthers to win 2-1 in game 7 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

This is the very first Stanley Cup victory for the Florida Panthers, after losing in the finals last year to the Vegas Golden Knights.

Connor McDavid has been named the 2024 Conn Smythe Trophy winner, McDavid dominated offensively with 42 points, fourth all-time in NHL playoff scoring. His 34th assists passed Wayne Gretzky for most playoff assists (1987-88).
