It's becoming clear that this years trade deadline is becoming a sellers market with many teams willing to part with many players as they seek out draft picks and prospects.

Over the past several weeks numerous teams have been dropping out of the playoff race and have been changing their plans with new players emerging as potential options.

Many eyes will be focusing on the Ottawa Senators as Vladimir Tarasenko appears to be ready to be moved to a new team.

Many have pegged him for the Edmonton Oilers but it seems that the Carolina Hurricanes may want his services.

32 thoughts podcaster and Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman has made the statement that President and General Manager Don Waddell of the Hurricanes is not interested in paying higher prices for rentals.

However, The Hurricanes need a major push in the playoffs as they have been a repeat choker in the last several years.

The team is nestled in the second position in the metro division six points behind the Rangers and adding a player like Tarasenko would certainly bolster their offence and power play.

The team holds almost $6 million in deadline cap space and could easily fit Tarasenko into their roster.

The team also holds all their draft picks including one from the Flyers and one from the Maple Leafs in 2024.

Should this concern the Rangers?

I doubt it and I feel the Rangers are a better team than the Hurricanes and would beat them in a playoff round.
