Transaction: The Detroit Red Wings are ready to make trade for Rangers star
The Detroit Red Wings and New York Rangers had a deal in place to send Jacob Trouba to Hockeytown.
Of which, the Captain would nix the trade and cause controversy in the NHL, as he is more focused on helping his fiancee' see through her residency in a New York hospital.
#NYR and #LGRW really want to make the Trouba deal work, but Drury is being extremely accommodating to Trouba. Kaapo Kakko or Filip Chytil have also been discussed. Detroit has a lot of cap space. Until then its' not likely he's available, but it sounds like the window for a trade between the two teams isn't closed yet.
As GM Steve Yzerman is ready to keep spending, as not just Trouba has been discussed.
It sounds like Filip Chytil or Kaapo Kakko could be headed out to Detroit as the Red Wings have plenty of cap space to work with.
This could be an ideal situation for Chris Drury as they have been trying to find a buy for Kaapo Kakko for some time now.
Kakko, the former 2019 1st-round pick, 2nd overall is drawing interest from multiple teams in the league as a reclamation project.
If Detroit is the newest team interested in Kakko, they will have to compete with the Calgary Flames, San Jose Sharks, and Pittsburgh Penguins.
