The NHL announcted the Arizona Coyotes would be moving to Utah, as the Smith Entertainment Group was taking over the franchise. In Utah, a passionate fanbase can be found.

If Bill Armstrong wants to excite the Utah HC fans, he could excite them by bring Jacob Trouba's heavy game to the desert.

His hard nose style of play, which reminds us of Scott Stevens would be electric in Utah.

If Utah could add Trouba, they could have one of the deepest bluelines in the league.

But that would require a massive amount of work from Bill Armstrong and the Utah HC. What would a trade for Trouba look like?

Utah has $15 Million in cap space and could take on Trouba's full $8 Million cap hit, and if they attach a draft pick, they could convince GM Chris Drury to take on $1.5 Million to $2 Million in salary retention.

Which would be beneficial for the Rangers, while they currently re-tool the roster in what should be a cup-contender team. With 17 draft picks in the next two NHL drafts, Armstrong could move a package that involves multiple picks for Trouba:

Utah: Jacob Trouba ($1.5 million)

Rangers: Victor Söderström, 2025 3rd Round Pick (NYR), 2026 2nd Round Pick (NYR), & 2027 5th Round Pick (TBL)

While this may be a hefty package, if GM Chris Drury could convince GM Armstrong what Trouba could bring to the HC blueline, it could be a great deal, as the team could make use of the assets for prospects in the future, or hockey trades as well.

This trade would benefit both parties, as it jettison Trouba's contract and makes Utah tougher on the blue line.
