It appears that the Utah hockey club has received numerous calls especially from the New York Rangers about their star player Clayton Keller.

The 25-year-old winger has received much attention over the past couple of weeks as his name has been surfacing through rumors and other stories as Utah continues to settle in the NHL and to prepare their roster for next season.

Keller is in a 8-year $57.2 million deal that he signed back in 2020 and he holds a cap hit of $7.15 million per season. The Rangers are seeking a top six forward that can play on the wing that will help compliment Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider.

To acquire a talent like Keller would require a large package of players and or draft picks to head to Utah. Unfortunately, on July 1st he had a no trade clause kick in which means the team would need to ask him to waive it to move him to another club.

Keller was drafted by the defunct Arizona Coyotes in 2016, first round 7th overall. He has played his entire career with that organization and has been a steady point producer and has improved with every year. He played 78 games this year, scoring 33 goals 43 assists with 76 points with 32 penalty minutes.

It's been documented that Keller is not pleased with the move to Utah and that it's likely he will ask for his trade out of the city of Salt Lake to which the Rangers could be a great location for him.
