Ruling Handed On Charlie McAvoy For Dirty Hit
The NHL Department of Player Safety has just handed down a suspension on Boston Bruins defenseman, Charlie McAvoy, for an illegal check to the head to Florida Panthers defenseman, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, in last night's 3-2 overtime win. He will be suspended for four games.
Just over two minutes after he'd scored the tying goal in the third period of the Bruins' comeback win, Charlie McAvoy was assessed a match penalty for an illegal hit to the head of Oliver Ekman-Larsson. He would be ejected from the game.
There is no word on if Ekman-Larsson will play in Thursday's game again the Detroit in Red Wings since receiving the hit.
Charlie McAvoy has had a stellar start to the season, registering 2 goals and 6 assists in 9 games played.
