NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman has given us an insight into why JT Miller has requested a trade out of Vancouver. This all started with a feud between himself, and Elias Pettersson.

The New York Rangers have a chance to steal one of the top centers in the NHL if they can manage to appease GM Patrik Allvin.

While two of two trades have been shot down by Allvin, by no means does this mean it's over. The Rangers need an upgrade to their top-six, and GM Chris Drury needs a 100+ player to even think of making a playoff push.

So why would JT Miller want to leave a successful franchise like the Vancouver Canucks, with Rick Tocchet at the helm?

While some people reportedly deny the fact, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman provided insight into Miller's desire to depart Vancouver.

"I'd heard that Miller had asked for a trade, had finally said, 'Just get me out of here,'" Friedman said. "I think as a couple people just said to me, like, everybody knows what's going on here, and they're just they're trying to work to get something done, but a specific trade request that was denied to me by several people."

It seems, the media coverage of the feud between himself, and Pettersson has reached its peak.

«It's apparently on ice for now, but it's become increasingly clear that the Rangers covet Miller and view him as one of the very few potentially available players who could change the dynamic of their lineup,» Mercogliano wrote via X.

Braden Scheider, Alexis Lafrenière and Filip Chytil are all names being mentioned in trade rumors, but it's unclear how much the Rangers are willing to give up and what the Canucks are seeking in return for Miller.

Miller wants a fresh start and without shame has requested trade.

Honestly, who can blame him though? If the chemistry in the locker room is poisoned, why would you stick around in a bad situation like that?

Even if it is, one he could've created.

Either way, this could be a coup for the Rangers who could see Miller return to the blue shirts and help pave the way for a deep playoff push.

Since Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider have failed to rally the players as they should've.

Friedman reported over the weekend that the deal being discussed between the Rangers and Canucks is now off with the reasoning behind the sudden cancellation unknown.

JT Miller has played 35 games for the Canucks this season and scored 31 points (8 G, 23 A).

If you were GM Chris Drury of the New York Rangers would you trade one of your top-six forwards for forward JT Miller?
