The Reason Behind The New York Rangers Trade For J.T. Miller Fell Apart Was Just Confirmed
On Saturday night NHL insider Elliotte Friedman revealed that a trade involving the New York Rangers and the Vancouver Canucks is in the process but ultimately fell apart due to unknown reasons.
According to several reports throughout the last month, the Canucks were on the verge of trading J.T. Miller and the New York Rangers were at the top of the list of potential suitors but it now seems like those trade talks have cooled down.
During Saturday night's Hockey Night in Canada broadcast, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman revealed that the trade was so close at one point that Miller was expected to be held out of the lineup for Saturday nights game between the
Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks.
"J.T. Miller I expect is going to play tonight, unless something changes at the last minute, but there was a time over the last 24 hours where J.T. Miller was not going to play," revealed Friedman. "He was going to be held out of the lineup because talks were progressing on a trade."
Friedman revealed that the team involved in the potential trade was the New York Rangers:
"I believe that team to be the New York Rangers," said Friedman.
Friedman also revealed that the trade involving the Rangers never materialized for some unknown reason:
"I don't know exactly what happened but that trade is off right now," said Friedman.
However, according to a recent report the reasoning behind the trade falling apart was due to the conditions of the first-round pick:
Drance says him and Dhali were looking around to see why the NY Rangers trade for JT Miller fell apart, and he says it was suggested that the conditions of the 1st round pick was the reason.

Definitely something the New York Rangers shouldn't be giving up. It will be interesting to see what the future will hold if both teams continue to explore this trade.
