Rangers insider surprisingly reveals a third player that's linked to a potential trade for J.T. Miller
Rangers insider shockingly links a third New York Rangers player to be involved in the latest trade talks surrounding the Vancouver Canucks and star forward J.T. Miller.
On Saturday night, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman broke the news that Miller was initially going to be held out of Saturday night's game between the Canucks and Oilers for trade reasons. Unfortunately the trade fell apart for some unknown reasons.
However, Rangers reporter Vince Z. Mercogliano has identified three players that the Canucks were targeting in this trade, while revealing one player who won't be traded from the New York Rangers, that player being Mika Zibanejad as he believes he won't ever waive his no movement clause.
"But I've said before that I don't see Mika Zibanejad waiving his NMC in season (if ever), so I'd look elsewhere if you're trying to figure out what the trade package would look like,"
Mercogliano then continued to name three other players that he believes could be potential suitors to be involved in a trade to bring Miller back to the Rangers, those three players being Alexis Lafreniere, Braden Schneider, and now Filip Chytil.
"It's fairly well known that Vancouver has asked for Braden Schneider and [the Rangers] have repeatedly said no to this point," wrote Mercogliano. "Alexis Lafrenière also feels like a bridge too far. But a name at least one source believes was involved in most recent trade talks: Filip Chytil."
Clearly indicating that the Vancouver Canucks have a high asking price for J.T. Miller, so if the Rangers truly want him they might just have to give up a valuable asset.
