If it's obvious, the New York Rangers have begun to sell off major pieces, as today Jimmy Vesey and Ryan Lindgren were traded to the Colorado Avalanche. Who could be next?

The New York Rangers have begun the great sell-off, as they have moved off of defenseman Ryan Lindgren, and depth forward Jimmy Vesey.
GM Chris Drury would retain half of his $4.5 million salary and receive Jusso Parsinen, and Calvin DeHaan in return, with two conditional draft picks in 2025( 2nd and 4th).
Now, that assets are moving, and flowing in we should expect more moves, as this core has failed to perform up to expectations.
Who could be next?
Kreider has been a lifelong Ranger and has never worn any other crest in the NHL. But it appears his time in New York could be coming to an end.
He's been in the rumor mill for trades this season and while nothing has materialized in the past, the former 30-goal-scoring forward could find a new home depending on who could utilize his talents.
Obstacles could be his $6.5 million dollar contract which has two years left, and a 15-team no-trade clause.
Reilly Smith was acquired during the off-season by GM Chris Drury and hasn't been able to shine like we've seen him in the past with the Vegas Golden Knights.
If anything his game has been underwhelming in New York. He's a pending UFA with an eight-team no-trade list and has a $3.75 million cap hit.
A team looking for depth scoring could utilize Smith, who has only scored 29 points (10 G, 19 A) in 58 games this year.

Alexis Lafreniere

If the team were to move Alexis Lafreniere, it'd be considered a "hockey trade" as he's still in his bridge deal with the New York Rangers. His new contract won't kick in until next season.
He had an amazing showing for the Rangers last season scoring 29 goals and 57 points, but has failed to replicate his success.
He has no trade protection and has plenty of upside available for younger teams who could fit him into their timeline, like the Montreal Canadiens.
