After An Extremely Slow Start, He's Been Quietly Producing!
Blake Wheeler has had a rough start to the season.
Failing to register a single point all season until November 4th, in the 5-4 overtime loss against the Minnesota Wild, where he registered an assist.
Wheeler has since been inserted into the first line right wing position, replacing Kaapo Kakko, and has a nice little stretch going for him.
In the last five games, Wheeler has two goals, and two assists. He netted an empty net goal last night in the 5-3 win over the New Jersey Devils.
This is more than what they are getting from Kakko this season, who has only registered two points.
The Rangers still need to resolve the top right wing position, but this is good enough for right now. Let's see how the season progresses.
