Breaking: New York Rangers place former Stanley Cup Champion on waivers
The New York Rangers have officially placed forward on waivers as a cap-saving measure.
After the New York Rangers fell short in the Eastern Conference Finals, they have been working hard on reshaping their roster.
Today, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, revealed the New York Rangers have placed 31-year old forward Barclay Goodrow, on waivers to clear necessary Cap space.
«Barclay Goodrow is on waivers today»
With doing this the Rangers hope another team will claim him as it would help clear a full $3.642 million AVV cap hit, as he still has three seasons remaining at a $3.642MM cap hit with a 15-team no-trade list.
Barclay Goodrow wasn't the worse player for the Rangers but could have been better, during the regular season he only managed to tally up 12 points (4 goals, 8 assists), and in the post season he seemed to do better with 8 points (6 goals, 2 assist) in 16 games.
The Rangers have waived depth forward Barclay Goodrow. The 31-year-old has three years remaining on his contract with a $3,641,667 AAV. Goodrow had 6 goals and 2 assists in 16 playoff games in 2024.
