The New York Rangers finalized a deal with the Canucks that sent multiple pieces back to Vancouver in return to JT Miller. Allvin finally addressed a question that had us all puzzled.

What took so long for the two times to make the trade happen? Miller was a recent trade piece for the Canucks, and the deal happened just a few weeks before the NHL's best-on-best tournament, The "Four Nations Face Off" takes place.
While it seemed that timing had everything to do with the trade, it was purely coincidentally according to Allvin.
It sounds like Allvin has been working the phones since the first day of the NHL season.
«I have been open for trades since the start of the season,» Allvin said via The Athletic. «Never was a conversation about timing on the trade for our end regarding the 4 Nations. Return was the key for us."

Miller will be suiting up for Team USA this year, alongside teammates Adam Fox, Chris Kreider, and Vinnie Trocheck.
Also included in the star-studded cast is Long Island Rival, Brock Nelson which is just ridiculous.
Team USA is so loaded.
While Miller, finally has found his home again in New York after having to deal with an internal feud that rocked the airwaves with Canucks Center Elias Pettersson.
Miller would deny the accusations involving himself, and Pettersson, but the team hasn't played like the contenders we saw last season.
Now, in New York, he has found a fresh start with the team that drafted him 15th overall in 2011.
Miller's only played two games for the Blueshirts and has already produced 4 points (2 G, 2A) and could be instrumental in the push for the playoffs.
But in a week, we'll get to see him take on his teammates, and rivals as Team USA battles against Finland, Sweden, and Canada.
This season, he's played 42 games in the NHL and has scored 39 points (11 G, 38 A) with both the Canucks and Rangers.
Thanks to Patrik Allvin, the Rangers could have their fortunes reversed and the team pushed back into contention.
