Season ending injury: New York Rangers confirm key forward will be out long-term with lower-body injury

The worst has officially been confirmed for New York Rangers forward after as he was forced to exit the game early on Saturday afternoon when they faced the Boston Bruins.
During the Rangers game on Saturday, the New York Rangers PR team announced that forward Adam Edstrom will be sidelined for the remainder of the game due to suffering a lower-body injury.

Based purely off speculation it seems like Edstrom has suffered this injury after being tied up with Boston Bruins defenseman Nikita Zadorov.

Definitely a huge loss for the New York Rangers tonight, as Edstrom has been a solid player for the fourth line. Within 50 games played this season with the Rangers Edstrom has managed to tally 5 goals and 4 assists for a total of 9 points while averaging 9:12 of ice time.
However, some very unfortunate news as surfaces as it was just confirmed by several Rangers reporters that Adam Edstrom will be sidelined for at least 2.5 months to 3.5 months with a lower-body injury.
