Former New York Rangers legend targeted in latest online scam

Wayne Gretzky, one of the greatest NHL athletes of all time, is extremely well known as he has millions of fans all over the world, and unfortunately scammers are using him as a face of their scams.

Now that social media has essentially taken over the world, and everyone and their grandparents are using different platforms online, it's easy for these scammers to find easy targets.

Manly these scammers will create fake news regarding many peoples hero's, favourite celebrities, and athletes, that prompts users to click on a link in order to generate traffic on websites and get advertising revenues.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, tons of post involving Wayne Gretzky is going viral for terrible reasons, as a fake news story is circulating of him being arrested and escorted by police.

This method has been around for many years now, and younger people are aware that it is scam, but unfortunately some people still click and fall for the scam.

Wayne Gretzky who is now 63-years old turned to hockey analysis and broadcasting following a 20-season NHL career that saw him score 2,857 points, including 894 goals for the New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, and St. Louis Blues.
