Former NHL Player Gives A Harsh Assessment Of Rangers
Former NHL player, Bobby Ryan, gives a rather harsh take on this iteration of the Rangers and their potential in the playoffs on a podcast called the EmptyNetters.
So Ryan gives high praise for Mika Zibanejad since he played with him, but doesn't believe in the rest of the team, including Igor Shesterkin, who admittedly is having his worst season of his career by far.
I think some of the negative look on this Rangers team, comes from the first round, seven game meltdown against the New Jersey Devils last season, completely overlooking that the Rangers made it to the conference finals two seasons ago with a similar core of this team.
But a team, many consider to be the greatest regular season team in NHL history in the Boston Bruins last season, flamed out in the first round of the playoffs as well.
The Rangers have just as good of a chance as any team in the Eastern Conference to make the Stanley Cup Finals, and with a month left before the trade deadline, they can definitely improve the team further to make a big push.
