This project was focused on the ceremony that the Pittsburgh Penguins held last season for his retirement, and it was called «Celebrate 68: Jagr Retirement Ceremony» a Pittsburgh Penguins Project.
Aside being the subject of the documentary, he was also credited as a director that helped him seal the award.
It seems his story continues to live on with several generations of hockey fans as he was drafted by the Penguins 34 years ago in 1990, first round 5th overall. He has basically done everything the NHL could ask in terms of records, awards for personal bests winning 2 Stanley Cup trophies and providing the NHL 20 years of highlight reels during his career.
His time with the Rangers began in 2004 which had a span of four seasons ending in 2008. He was an instant fan favorite much like any other team he played for, and he played every game possible for the Rangers in the three full seasons he was there including 123-point season in 2005 while scoring 54 goals.
He had played 1733 games, scoring 766 goals with 1155 assists for 1921 points and was a + 322. As a fan of that era, I was able to watch him play and excite the building no matter which team he played for. Fans would go out just to pay to see him play Even if he wasn't on their favorite team.
It was documented that there was a falling out between the Penguins and Jagr but that seems to have been mended as the Penguins have given him a job in their front office while working remotely from his home in Czechia.
It remains to be seen on how long his story will continue to be heard but it appears that his playing career is coming to an end at the end of his team's season.
