An unexpected hockey fan voiced her concerns over the situation around New York Rangers enforcer Matt Rempe when he boarded Dallas Stars Miro Heiskanen on Friday.

Former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin who ran with John McCain against Barack Obama during the 2008 presidential race tweeted her thoughts that there was plenty of Anti-Rempe fans of hockey and felt that they have been too critical on him and are not considered true hockey fans.

This hit has certainly sparked a wave of comments across the X platform from various fans across the world including Palin Who either agree or disagree with what she had said. Many fans feel that the hit was unnecessary and that could have been avoided especially since he was suspended for eight games by the NHL players and safety department.

Rempe's second season in the NHL has not gone according to plan. After becoming a household name in the New York Rangers area with his parade of fights an overall energy he brought to the dressing room, it became clear that head coach Peter Laviolette had a tough time putting him in the lineup this year.

Rempe vowed that he would work on his game throughout the summer which included several sessions with former NHL heavyweight Georges Laraque who felt that Rempe needed some lessons as he did not have a style.

He also lived with goaltender Jonathan quick in Connecticut and worked out with Chris Kreider as a way to put himself with other NHL stars to understand how to become a better NHL player.

It seems those lessons have not transpired into more ice time or games played as he has only played five games this year and has bounced between Hartford and New York City several times.

It remains to be seen on what his fate will be after his eight games are done and if
the Rangers choose to keep him in their organization or cut him loose.

Time will tell but, in the meantime, he will be sitting for the next eight games watching the Rangers try to right the ship and start winning games on a more regular basis.
