Rangers are looking to beat down the New Jersey Devils tonight at Prudential Center.

This will be a victory we Rangers fans will enjoy significantly.

Some of the Rangers players are speaking up about last season and the disappointing finish against the Devils in the first round of the playoffs, where the Rangers blew a 2-0 series lead to lose in seven games. Vincent Trocheck speaks on the loss.

"The disappointment of last year sits with you for a long time. It's a long off-season to sit with that and kind of let it eat you up."

It was a long offseason, not just for the players, but for the fans.

After the 2021-2022 season, where the Rangers made it all the way to the conference finals, only to also blow a 2-0 lead against the two-time defending champions, Tampa Bay Lightning, expectations were high about this team making it just as far, if not further, especially with the additions of Patrick Kane and Vladimir Tarasenko in the mid-season. Alas, what happened, happened.

Thankfully we were relieved when the Devils themselves were dispatched in the second round by the Carolina Hurricanes, in five games.

Igor Shesterkin makes a not so subtle dig at the Devils when asked about the team that knocked them out last season.

"Did they win the Stanley Cup? Then it doesn't matter."

It's true. They didn't win it. But it's a new season, and a new chance for the team to redeem themselves.

Let's see what the Rangers are made of tonight!
