Peter Laviolette is arguably one of the best coaches in the NHL, and thankfully he's behind the New York Rangers bench.

However, a recent statement from Rangers starting goalie Igor Shesterkin regarding his head coach had sparked some controversy.
During a recent interview with journalist Daria Tuboltseva, Shesterkin exposed his own coach for some of his harsh punishments and rules.
Manly pointing out Laviolette's rule that requires players to show up to games four hours in advance, and if they missed this time frame they would be fined. Shesterkin revealed that so far no one from the Rangers have broken this rule.
"Last season, Laviolette introduced a rule that everyone must arrive at the hotel four hours before the game starts - this is done so that no one is late for the game because of traffic. If the game is at 7 p.m. and you haven't arrived at the hotel by 3 p.m., there will be a fine.

It has never happened that anyone was late, but there have been times when guys arrived just in time. But I always stayed at the hotel. I like to sleep during the day, so I am never late."
At the end of the day every coach has their own rules and expectations of their players, as they try to keep them focused and ready.
