It's confirmed: Rangers emerge as frontrunners to acquire Ducks superstar
Anaheim Ducks young star has revealed the New York Rangers are his preferred trade destination.
Throughout the past few months there has been tons of speculation, that the Anaheim Ducks are prepared to move on from their young star Trevor Zegras.
As the Ducks future continues to grow bright, with a core built around young talent like Mason MacTavish, Cutter Gauthier, Leo Carlsson and their top pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, leaving Zegras to be the odd man out.
However, according to a recent report from Peter Baugh of the Athletic, he reveals that Zegras preferred trade destination would be the Rangers:
"What we can say is that Zegras, who trains in the offseason at Prentiss Hockey Performance alongside Chris Kreider, has had the Rangers as his ideal destination for a long time. Ducks GM Pat Verbeek has had some decent interest from at least one team believed to be the Flyers but is asking for a very expensive return for Zegras, who had an injury-plagued 2023-24 and finished with 15 points in 31 games." Baugh said. But he fails to mention who the New York Rangers would be willing to trade for Zegras, but given the interest around the league the Rangers would have to offer quite a bit, for the deal to make sense for both parties.
