Laviolette Comes To The Defense Of Struggling Goalie
A dejected Igor Shesterkin placed the blame for last night's 7-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs squarely on his own shoulders.
Head coach Peter Laviolette was asked last night if he considered pulling Shesterkin when the team went down 4-1 in the first period.
"No. I think that some of it was on us and some it was some nice goals. I thought also through the course of the game he made some big saves... So, no, I didn't think about it."
Laviolette was asked about Igor Shesterkin being hard on himself after practice earlier today, take a listen:
"I think players always care about how they play and how they're doing on the ice for sure. We talked this morning. We've got a tremendous amount of confidence and faith in him. He's an elite goaltender"
We as Rangers fans should keep the faith in him as well, and in no way was the loss last night completely on his shoulders.
