Major development has surfaced regarding former controversial Rangers defenseman making a return to the National Hockey League after having his contract terminated in the KHL.
Recently some unfortunate news emerged from the KHL team SKA St. Petersburg as they announced that they have terminated former New York Rangers defenseman's contract.
That former New York Rangers' defender being Tony DeAngelo, who had his contract terminated in the KHL due to a mutual decision, despite having a solid season with the team while putting up 6 goals and 32 points in 36 games.
However, both Tony DeAngelo and the SKA St. Petersburg have made it clear that this has nothing to do with his performance but rather due to a «family issue».

The defenseman's contract will be mutually terminated, with Tony needing to return to North America due to family reasons.

However, following this statement another former NHL defenseman, Jordan Schmaltz has issued a statement saying that Tony DeAngelo deserves to have another shot in the National Hockey League, and even suggested a few teams that would be interested in acquiring him:
Tony Deangelo deserves a sniff back in the national league. Guy went over to the Kontiental. Lit it up. Former Teammates I've spoke with, love him. Just because the woke media has painted him out to be a bad guy over his political views doesn't mean he's a bad egg. Plus he's a smart enough fella to realize this is his final straw if that's what you want to call it. Dude can play. A straight up facilitator. Toronto? Tampa? Detroit? Edmonton? He would be cheap.. 📞📞
DeAngelo has been a solid player in the NHL despite his attitude. However he has played 371 NHL games and managed to tally 48 goals and 162 for a total of 210 points.
