After a brutal month of December, the New York Rangers seem to be transforming back into their original form, as they now hold a record of 4-1-2 through the month of January thus far.
However, this still leaves one major question, does this change Chris Drury's mindset going into the NHL Trade Deadline on March 7th.
With the Rangers currently sitting out of the playoff picture, all signs are pointing towards the franchise to take a selling approach once the deadline comes. At least according to NHL Insider, Frank Seravalli of the DailyFaceoff:
The New York Rangers have a few unrestricted free agents this summer, including Ryan Lindgren, Jimmy Vesey, Jonathan Quick, Reily Smith and Will Borgen.
If the New York Rangers can continue to win and get their game back on track, and land themselves in a playoff position in a few weeks, Chris Drury's mindset just may change.
It's no secret that the Rangers aren't the biggest Stanley Cup contenders right now, but the team has shown what they are capable of achieving once making the playoffs.
Drury will have to carefully evaluate the News York Rangers over the next month and determine what direction he wants to take the organization because there are high stakes in whichever route he decides to go.
