Chris Drury and the New York Rangers face critical decisions regarding the future of the franchise
General Manager Chris Drury and the New York Rangers have some critical decisions to make deciding the future of the franchise.
After a brutal month of December, the New York Rangers seem to be transforming back into their original form, as they now hold a record of 4-1-2 through the month of January thus far.
With the Rangers currently sitting out of the playoff picture, all signs are pointing towards the franchise to take a selling approach once the deadline comes. At least according to NHL Insider, Frank Seravalli of the DailyFaceoff:
«Right now, they're trending to be sellers. But, I still don't believe that Chris Drury is going to sit back and do nothing.
I think they're going to be buyers for the long haul, but maybe not fixing this season, if that makes any sense.»
If the New York Rangers can continue to win and get their game back on track, and land themselves in a playoff position in a few weeks, Chris Drury's mindset just may change.
It's no secret that the Rangers aren't the biggest Stanley Cup contenders right now, but the team has shown what they are capable of achieving once making the playoffs.
Drury will have to carefully evaluate the News York Rangers over the next month and determine what direction he wants to take the organization because there are high stakes in whichever route he decides to go.
