The New York Rangers' Filip Chytil is in quite the conundrum, as he's once again out of the lineup for a 2nd year.

This time, it's another upper-body injury and while there have been no details released about it, but we can speculate.

If the injury is as problematic as we think, i.e. a concussion there needs to be serious discussion about his future with the Rangers.

A quality-of-life decision is likely what's next for Chytil.

George Grimm, author of many Blueshirt books including "We Did Everything But Win," is emphatic about Chytil.

"At this point," says Grimm, "Chytil really needs to retire. It's a shame and I know it will be a tough decision. But he needs to consider the quality of the rest of his life - and those who might have to take care of him."

Chytil's injury is serious enough that he won't be traveling with the Rangers either, according to Yahoo Sports.

Filip Chytil did not practice with the rest of the New York Rangers on Saturday and will not travel to start the team's four-game road trip as he continues to get evaluated with an upper-body injury.

Chytil's injury occurred during the game Saturday against the San Jose Sharks, where he and teammate K'Andre Miller collided on the ice.

In order for Chytil to get an idea of where his health stands he needs to truly pause and consider where his next steps take him.

This could mean hanging up the skates and foregoing his career with the New York Rangers.

Chytil has played only 15 games this season, and posted 9 points( 4 G, 5 A), and was a driver of the Rangers stunted offense.

It'll be detrimental to the Rangers if they lose Filip Chytil for good, but it'll be more so if Chytil loses a living standard he returned to previously if he continues to accumulate concussions.
