Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette issues a crucial update on Filip Chytil and it's not good
New York Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette has just provided a crucial update on Filip Chytil's status as the team is on a four game road trip.
Last Thursday night the New York Rangers faced off against the San Jose Sharks for the first time this season, unfortunately during the game Rangers forward Filip Chytil sustained a devastating injury after colliding with teammate K'Andre Miller.
Following the game reports surfaced from various reports, one being from Vince Z. Mercogliano who stated that Chytil is not being ruled out for the Rangers road trip and could very well join the team on the road.
They're not ruling out Chytil joining the team later in the trip, from what I'm told, but it depends how he progresses. It's a delicate situation, as you might imagine. #NYR
However, Sunday night Filip Chytil did not join the New York Rangers for their first game of the road trip as they faced off against the Seattle Kraken.
Ultimately this has left a lot of questions from fans and many alike, as everyone wants to know if the 25-year old forward would join the team before their next game against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night.
Unfortunately that still remains unknown, according to a report from Vince Z. Mercogliano head coach Peter Laviolette didn't give much of an update on whether or not he will join the team.
Laviolette said there isn't much of an update on Chytil. Still not skating and no word about whether he'll be able to join the team on this trip. (That seems unlikely, IMO.) #NYR
Chytil has a long history of concussions, which was the main concern when he suffered this injury. Now it's important that he doesn't rush his return and he takes to the time to fully heal and recover.
