Arthur Kaliyev capitalized on a rebound from Filip Chytil's shot, ultimately finding the back of the net for his very first goal as a member of the New York Ranger.
The New York Rangers recently claimed Kaliyev off waivers on January 6th, after the Los Angeles Kings decided to part ways with the young forward.
The 23-year old forward was originally selected 33rd overall by the Kings in the 2nd round of the 2019 NHL Draft, and was thought to be one of the Kings top prospects.
Unfortunately things didn't play out that way as he struggled to earn a spot and produce consistently in the lineup, ultimately leaving him to be placed on waivers and joining the New York Rangers. Marking tonight's game his 4th appearance with the Rangers as well.
However, the Rangers have had a solid game against the Utah HC as they managed to win 5-3, thanks to goal scorers Artemi Panarin (2 goals) Arthur Kaliyev, Reilly Smith and Chris Kreider.
Hopefully the Blueshirts can continue to play like this once they return to Madison Square Garden on Saturday, January 18th as they take on the Columbus Blue Jackets.
