New York Rangers AHL affiliate team has officially revealed who will be the 15th captain of the Wolf Pack

The New York Rangers AHL affiliate, The Hartford Wolfpack has named a new leadership group today.

They have named defenseman Casey Fitzgerald for the 2024-2025 season. Fitzgerald will be following Jonny Brodzinski who held the title from 2021 to 2024.

Alex Belzile, and Anton Blidh, will serve as Alternate Captain to Fitzgerald this season.

Today Fitzgerald is the 15th Captain in Wolfpack history and signed with the New York Rangers on July 2nd, 2024.

He has scored seven points (1 g, 6 a) in nine games as a member of the Wolf Pack this season.
The native of North Reading, MA, tied his previous career-high in goals with four a season ago as a member of the Charlotte Checkers. In a career-high 69 games, Fitzgerald also set career-high marks in assists with 17, points with 21, and +/- with a +22 rating during the 2023-24 campaign.

Fitzgerald has appeared in 157 career AHL games with the Wolf Pack, Checkers, and Rochester Americans, scoring 62 points (14 g, 48 a). He has also suited up in 63 career NHL games with the Florida Panthers and Buffalo Sabres, scoring nine assists.

This is the 2nd time Fitzgerald has served as Captain during his hockey career where he'd wear the "C" with the Boston College Eagles in 2017-2018, and 2018-2019.

Fitzgerald made his debut in 2021-2022 with the Buffalo Sabres, he'd play 63 NHL games total during his career, posting 9 points( 9 A) with a -21 rating, and 47 blocks, and 121 hits total.

The last time he saw NHL ice was in 2022-2023 with the Florida Panthers playing 4 games with a -1 rating, 1 shot on goal 21:13 total TOI.
