Through three games played, he has scored two goals with five assists for seven points and is a + 2. The 32-year-old forward has been looking to build off from his amazing season last year where he played all 82 games, scoring 49 goals with 71 assists for 120 points and was a + 18 with 24 penalty minutes.
Head coach Peter Laviolette has high hopes that he will continue his body of work as he has helped other players in his line excel including Alexis Lafrenière. He also had a breakout year last year and will become a pivotal member of the top 6 just like it was envisioned when he was drafted 1st overall in 2020.
The Rangers organization have felt that this season could be a crossroads for this group as they had gone to the Eastern Conference final last year. Throughout the summer, the rangers were quite quiet in terms of major changes or trades as the team realize that their current layout should be allowed to continue.
