The Washington Capitals are to bring back the screaming eagle jerseys for their 50th anniversary as it was deemed to be Alexander Ovechkin's favourite jersey.
Alex Ovechkin's career is sadly almost over as he has roughly another two seasons with the Washington Capitals, but luckily for him he will be able to wear the jersey he wore during his rookie season one more time.
According to a recent post from Russian Machine Never Breaks the Capitals are likely to release a third jersey just in time for their 50th anniversary. While many details haven't been released, it's suggested that they will use the eagle with the white, black, or limited-use red jersey.
Ovechkin has been the face of the Washington Capitals organization for almost 20 years now and has always expressed how much he likes the Capitals jerseys, so it just makes sense for them to honour him and bring back his favourite jersey.
