The New York Rangers take on a familiar opponent, as the Philadelphia Flyers arrive in Madison Square Garden. In tow is always electric, and sometimes curmudgeonly John Tortorella as head coach.

The New York Rangers will look to pick up another two points tonight as they face off against another Metropolitan Division opponent the Flyers.

The Rangers sit 5th in the Metropolitan Division, and 3 points from catching the Columbus Blue Jackets in the rankings with 50.

Tonight they could pull off a regulation win and put them within one point of the Blue Jackets and secure a wild card spot in the playoffs, but they have to keep pushing.

Their record as it stands right now, is 23-20-4, and could improve if they keep playing better hockey like they have.

Projected Lineups

The New York Rangers projected lineups are as follows.

Healthy scratches once again are; Zac Jones, Jonny Brodzinski, and Jimmy Vesey.

Igor Shesterkin will guard the crease, against the Flyers and rookie Matvei Michkov.

Rangers projected lineup

Artemi Panarin - Vincent Trocheck - Alexis Lafreniere
Will Cuylle - Mika Zibanejad - Reilly Smith
Chris Kreider - Filip Chytil - Arthur Kaliyev
Adam Edstrom - Sam Carrick - Matt Rempe

Ryan Lindgren - Adam Fox
K'Andre Miller - Will Borgen
Urho Vaakanainen - Braden Schneider

Igor Shesterkin
Jonathan Quick

Scratched: Zac Jones, Jimmy Vesey, Jonny Brodzinski

The New York Rangers need to be in playoff mode in the second half of the season to catch the Blue Jackets and continue to climb the ranks.
