A recent article published by Forever Blueshirts Has shown that the New York Rangers are one of the best teams statistically in the salary cap era.

The article goes through several categories including goals scored, goals against, save percentage, regular season wins, playoff games, shootout wins and so on. The team finished 8th as their worst category in goals scored with 4286 out of 32 teams. Several of the statistics have the Rangers in second or in first place which includes saves percentage, shootout winds and penalty kill.

This franchise had undergone a major rebuild during this time and now the fan base is enjoying the fruits of their labour. Last season the Rangers had an incredible season even though it had its ups and downs. The team finished with a record high 55 wins and went through three rounds of the playoffs with only a game short of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Several players including Igor Shesterkin had to battle through the season but managed to get his game back and took the Rangers on a ride that many fans will not forget.

General manager Chris Drury felt the team needed to change but unfortunately, he could not make the major changes he had hoped for had made subtle changes to the lineup.

With training camp, a little over a month away, Rangers management will continue to try to improve the roster while enjoying what they saw last year hopefully to continue to build off it.
