New York Rangers Metropolitan Division rivals reveals that they will be moving on from two longtime veterans.

New York Islanders General Manager Lou Lamoriello has sparked some major controversy as he revealed he will be moving on from two veterans as he prepares to make a run for the Stanley Cup.
After the Islanders missed the playoffs for the two consecutive seasons, Lou Lamoriello revealed that the organization is ready to move on from Matt Martin and Cal Clutterbuck.
«We'll probably be moving on,» Lamoriello told The Post. «That isn't saying things can't change. We're talking about two veterans, two quality individuals. Two team leaders and two real good hockey players, so we'll have to see how things come about. But we haven't changed our thought process today any different than the last time we spoke.»
35-year old veteran forward, Matt Martin has spent 13 out of his 15 seasons with the Islanders, who has know for being a physical winger and put up 8 points (4 goals, 4 assists) in 57 games last season.
36-year old Clutterbuck is also a longtime veteran of the Islanders as he spent the last 11 seasons with the organization, but hasn't put up more than 20 points in a single season since 2018. Just last season he managed to tally 19 points (7 goals, 12 assists) in 82 games.
Lamoriello never mentioned any replacements for either player or what their plan was moving forward.
