The New York Rangers offseason was very quiet compared to what many thought would happen as general manager Chris Drury stated that everything was on the table to alter the core and make the team better.

The team is facing a cap crunch which has prevented them from making several trades to bolster their lineup. This has led the organization down the path to using their younger talent to help fill the gaps and ask more out of them in terms of production of offense while defending properly.
It's believed that players like Kakko Kakko Matt Rempe, Alexis Lafreniere and Filip Chytil will have to bolster their play and become an even bigger role for the Rangers to repeat what they did last season.
The Rangers will also expect more from Zac Jones as he is slated to replace Philip Gustafsson on the blue line as the Rangers were unable to secure another defenseman. Ranger's prospect Will Cuylle is expected to challenge himself for a roster spot during this training camp and the Rangers have hopes that he will excel and lock in that spot this season.
This year's team will be different than last and it remains to be seen on whether they can replicate the same season or better with the current roster they have.
