New York Rangers veteran Chris Kreider revealed that he had been struggling with anxiety issues on a daily basis.

Statement from Chris Kreider regarding his struggles:

Hockey players are supposed to be tough. They're supposed to play through anything and everything. But there's sometimes stuff you can't necessarily see, stuff that's not physical. I've personally dealt with anxiety, and it's a common thing. When you're in it, you feel like you're on an island, going up and down. I don't think it was until the last few years where I realized how many people are experiencing it or have experienced it.

The 12-year NHL veteran has faced a lot of controversy during his time in the National Hockey League, so for him to open up and reveal that he has been struggling with mental health issues, just proves that everyone goes through something.

#NYR players Chris Kreider, Jonathan Quick & Matt Rempe will be taking part in Shoulder Check Showcase charity event Thursday in Stamford, CT.

Here's the "powerful, touching" story behind it all, with stick taps to Dave Maloney & Rob Thorsen 👇

Hopefully with Kreider voicing his struggles it can help others in the hockey community to reach out and seek help, and speak their truth.
