With the New York Rangers $15 million in deadline cap space available, GM Chris Drury will have to prioritize where to allocate that money. Some of it could go to RFA K'Andre Miller.

The New York Rangers were thought to be trading K'Andre Miller, but with speculation that it instead could be Ryan Lindgren moved priorities have shifted.
That means the Rangers could end up signing their future RFA K'Andre Miller to a new contract.
However, Miller isn't the only Rangers player up for a new deal.
Miller is one of a number of talented players that are up for new contracts. The Rangers already signed Alexis Lafreniere to a new deal, but players like Will Cuylle and Adam Edstrom among others need new deals.

For the Rangers to retain Miller's rights they'll have to tender a qualifying offer of $4.6 million AAV.
A prospect that leads us to believe that the idea of moving on from Lindgren could be a significant possibility, and now that contending teams are showing interest, GM Chris Drury should take advantage of that.
It seems that Drury will likely deal the veteran blueliner at the deadline. This seems to be the course of action because the Rangers probably don't want to let Lindgren walk away for nothing in the off-season.

NHL Insider Arthur Staple will be the insight into the next steps of a Miller deal as it seems the Rangers aren't comfortable with signing the defenseman to a long-term, eight-year deal.
The Rangers writer said that a six-year contract could make both sides happy. This would give Miller some term, but also allow him to possibly score another big deal in his early 30s

Also, with a rise in the salary cap happening soon, the contract that the team could offer will be significantly richer than that qualifying offer mentioned above.
Staple also mentions that the value could be around $6.5 million per season. This could be a good value with the salary cap projected to rise up for the next few seasons. We'll have to see what comes next for both sides as we get closer to the trade deadline.

The New York Rangers could find a way to sign him and keep his development moving forward as this season could be written off as a down year.
Let's hope that is the case, as we know what he's capable of, and so does he.
