The New York Rangers were dominating through the Carolina Hurricanes during Round 2 of this Stanley Cup Playoff series, with a massive 3-0 lead and they managed to win seven straight games since the start of the playoffs.

However, the Hurricanes have seemed to seized the momentum right back with two straight victories, their last win was at Madison Square Garden on Monday night.

The pressure is now on for the Rangers to eliminate the Hurricanes in game six instead of them forcing the series to game seven, which will be tomorrow night at the PNCArena in Raleigh.

But of course ahead of the matchup, there was some unfortunate news from New Yorks head coach Peter Laviolette.

As Veteran forward Chris Kreider was absent from today's practice, and right now, his status for game six still remains uncertain.

Chris Kreider (maintenance, per NYR) did not skate today. I asked Peter Laviolette if there is concern about his availability for Game 6 or if he's expected to play and this is just normal playoff maintenance.

"I'm hoping that today was just a normal playoff maintenance."

After another outstanding regular season campaign that saw Kreider score 39 goals, he has followed that up by scoring 4 goals in the nine playoff games that he's played in.
