Peter Laviolette remains silent on Rangers playoff lineup
The Rangers organization and head coach Peter Laviolette have decided to remain silent with the media in terms of how their lineup will move forward and with any lineup changes or injuries as the NHL playoffs draw near.
The team is currently in preparations for their round one matchup against the Washington Capitals and there have been several questions by the media in terms of who will be in the lineup including Filip Chytil's status as he has been sidelined for several months with a major injury.
Vince Mercogliano of SNY.tv also weighed in on Chytil's chances have been in game one and it appears that there's certainly a possibility this may happen.
It's always custom for coaches to keep their cards close to their vests as they do not want to divulge either injuries or ideas of line-up changes to the other coach as the chess game begins.
Many feel this team may be different than last years as the Rangers suffered that bitter disappointment in round one.
The Capitals certainly give them a favorable opponent to move on to round two as they had squeaked into the playoffs and were able to join the dance based on a tiebreaker.
The Rangers will have a few days to rest and to practice and game one will be held on Sunday April 21st at 3:00 PM eastern in Madison Square Garden.
